Leading lights turn up for Rana

The audio launch of the Daggubati Rana starrer ‘Leader‘ was a glitzy affair, which is a given, considering the fact that he is from one of the Tollywood’s most famous families.

As expected, almost all the bigwigs from the Telugu film industry were present at the event to wish the debutante star for his entry into movies.

The stage had the backdrop of Rana standing in front of the State Assembly thus infusing more inquisitiveness about the movie.

The director of the movie Shekhar Kammula, who was one of the first to arrive, looked quite relaxed and was seen receiving the guests. The Daggubati family including Ramanaidu, Venkatesh and Suresh Babu were in high spirits.

Some of the prominent personalities of Tollywood who were present at the event included Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Sumanth, Allu Arjun, Vishnuvardhan Babu, M S Raju, Krishnam Raju, Allu Aravind, C Aswini Dutt, Kota Srinivasa Rao besides others.

The music director of the movie Mickey J Meyer was lauded for his compositions.

Mickey has earlier composed music for Happy Days. The actresses of the movie Priya and Richa looked dazzling and pretty.

The prestigious AVM Studios is producing the movie and hence a few scenes of previous movies from this production house were shown. The AVM which was established in 1945 has introduced actors like Sivaji Ganeshan, Raj Kumar, Padmini, Kamal Haasan, Anna Durai, Karunanidhi, MGR and NTR.

Chiranjeevi released the first audio cassette and handed over the first unit to Ramanaidu.

M Savanan of AVM launched the CD and gave the first unit to Ramanaidu and Chiranjeevi.

Speaking on the occasion, Chiranjeevi said that Rana was like a family member and elaborated, “This is just a launch vehicle and from here onwards you to have to work your way up. You have a big responsibility now of making your family proud with your work.” D Ramanaidu wished that his tall and handsome grandson would surpass him in fame and would go on to become the No. 1 star.

Director Shekhar Kammula explained that the current political scenario in India is such that a strong leader is the need of the hour.

“I have tried to portray the qualities a leader must have through this movie,” Kammula said. The movie is scheduled for a Christmas release.
