Let’s stop video Piracy
Nearly100 DVD’s of the Rana’s latest blockbuster ‘Leader’ film were seized at various places in Hyderabad. This is a classic example to prove that piracy is at its heights. On the third day after the release of the film in theaters pirated DVDs of the films are being sold on the streets. This is the time to open our eyes and react strongly against piracy. Piracy is everywhere and so are pirates.
You see them everywhere. On your way to school at the sidewalks. At shopping malls. IRailway stations, bus stops, trains and everywhere else where people might pass by. They sell their pirated movies and software like it’s the most natural thing in the world. Perhaps it is! Indians buy a lot of these pirated stuff! Well, they cost next to nothing. Who wouldn’t want that?!! But have you ever thought about this?
- Every pirated DVD you buy might make a family suffer with hunger.
- Every pirated DVD you buy might help terrorists plan their next attack.
Piracy is killing the local movie industry. Piracy is killing innocent people.
Let’s all realise our moral and ethical responsibility to our job and jointly fights film piracy.

Leader is a good movie,it reflected the feelings of normal and common man.
every problem will have a good solution as shown by leader for corruption.
i think there is a gap formed between audience and movies with increasing price of movie tickets and it was occupied by piracy, and u believe it or not 50-60% of people are not coming to theatres if they don’t get a good response from others for any movie and they are trying to watch it at home and it made wide opportunity to piracy makers.there will be a best solution for this if the big heads of film industry try to fix it.
i think this is the reason why movies are not able to cross 100days (cant imagine 175 now a days).
hope this situation changes in near future.

hey rana, i have done some work on anti piracy. i even tried to approach suresh production for the leader release. i told them i can stop the movie from being available from the internet, but no body cared about it.
i have approached suresh productions, they say u will have to contact the distributor, and the distributor said to ask the producer. i got a positive response finally from the anti piracy cell. but only 2 days before the movie release. after that i was busy in my job and didn’t try to contact further, but my mind was working on it.
i have just shifted from vizag to hyd so that i can work out my ideas.
i left my job in vizag and came to hyd with the confidence in my project. if ur really into stopin piracy let the concerned person to contact me. i have cost effective plans from stoping the movie like,
making the theater screen undetectable for camera,
tracing a hidden camera recording movie inside a theater
to trace from which theater the movie is recorded by watching the pirated movie obtained.
preventing the movie from being available for download.( i know u will be thinking its impossible, but trust me its very much possible)
when u trace out from which theater the movie is been recorded, u dont have to legally procede in closing the theater, but u can send a warning from the producers councel( if not available will have to create one)stating a movie is recorded in Ur theater or using the print given to u, so if it repeats for 2 more times we will not give release movie to Ur theater until the 30th day after release. so the main reason for the piracy will be prevented.
u will be shocked by the way in which piracy will be prevented from internet.
I am Hyderabad right now preparing my presentation for anti piracy.
i need to know some details about the film industry so i can go further to start my anti piracy work.

Hope you are doing good. I have watched leader at least a 100 times not because I could not understand, I loved the movie[:)]. Sekhar has picturized it in the way that I want to see my state.And your performance was awesome… Do not think that I have watched ur movie in theater. NO, not a single time… I have HQ Pirated version of it. As an educated gal, I know that it is a crime. But I have very less options to watch a movie. I am pursuing my masters in US and I am living in village kind of place. To watch a movie I have to drive a total of 4 hours and I need company too. The movie will be screened only on weekends [:(]. SO I missed it.
Coming to piracy, Usually we download it from websites likme indiawatch4u, bharathmovies etc. Actually I donot know the names. I have heard of them from my friends. SO why donot you start fighting on those online versions? If you take severe action,at least a 50% of piracy can be aborted.

If watching pirated movies is same as stealing, not
paying taxes is also stealing.
Nobody knows the money coming into movies is clean or not. Movie industry seems to become the favorite place to gamble for rich contractors and politicians. What is your opinion on this?

leader is one awesome movie which has its own essence and flavour that cannot be compared.Its indeed fresh…..and rana ,,as a debut actor,,u r gr8 man..especially your acting skills ,,u have ur own style and way of acting..ur acting skills if compared to a new debutant are quite matured.For this movie ,i dont think u had more scope for proving ur skills or potential in a more matured dramatic way but still u managed well..u need to improve in emotional scenes man…….!!!u have gr8 future ahead and for god’s sake plz dont select regular scripts which have usually love storie=fights=climax…instead go for new hollywood kind of movies……by the way man ,,can u dance? cos leader had no scope for dancing.anyway man plan out ur future movies with gr8 care, keepin in mind ur fans expectation..and coming to dis piracy thing man–i have this one gr8 idea to curb it???do u want it man!!!

You did a great job as “Leader ” …you rock Arjun Prasad aka RD (I hope u’ll take it as a compliment )…It happens very rarely that people get so connected to the charcter that they remember the actor with the roles he played. And you made it happen with first movie itself.
Also , actors like you with a strong film background always have one more movie to prove yourself. But looks like you made a statement already . Its great that you had the courage and confidence to take up such an intense political drama as your debut movie. I wish all the other film makers as well as artists take that step to experiment with different genres rather than blindly making cookie cutter sort ones.
Like someone said in the previous posts , in countries other than India , not everyone gets chance to watch movies in theaters and they are forced to watch the pirated version being hard core fans. I guess for people like that they should release the movie through internet and charge for downloading the movie. That way everyone gets benifited and satisfied. But yeah one should not encourage the piracy virus which is spreading faster than a contagious disease.
Lastly I have a few questions for you and I hope they will be answered by you instead of by someone from your PR team. Because I think the whole idea of blog is the actor connecting with his fans rather than his PR team interacting.
- If you ever enter into politics would try to be the Leader shown in your movie
- What would you choose : acting in Steven Speilberg movie or with Al Pacino
Hope in future you will choose to act in such meaningful movies that explore your acting skills and ofcourse we want to see you shaking your leg too …

To tell the truth…your acting was OK….but, definitely great acting for first movie.
When I saw your introduction scene (not sure if that was your first scene you have acted) in the movie I was like oh god he is such a bad actor but, as the story developed your acting was also developing with that…was that intentional?
Your personality was a perfect fit for the character in the movie…great story and of course amazing direction by Shekar Kammula…..Im a big fan of Shekar Kammula
The most frustrating thing is these kind of movies make you think but its effect lasts only for coupe of hours. No one will watch a movie and change the way they think….you might be thinking of changing the society when you are watching the movie but once you are out of the theater you are back to real life……I believe movies are just for entertainment and even if you make a point it will really not change the society. What ever you have done is impossible to do it in real life.

Its always nice when a movie that is being awaited for so long finally releases. I’ve watched about 20mins of your movie online in a pirated copy…planned to see it with my family in a theatre but unfortunately there was no release in my city. One thing which I do not understand is…every movie gets released in US but many don’t in cities which have a good telugu population and hence we are left with no other option other than watching those pirated copies and hence though we might want to fight against piracy indirectly encourage it. So I kindly request you to please release movies in all major cities even outside Andhra Pradesh. Will be watching your remaining movie as soon as I find a better copy. Do you I am left with any other choice!!
easiest way of stoppin piracy is 2 make use of ur charm…giv an offr 2 ur fanz..jus pass a statement “if u find pirated dvds anywhere..plz do let us kno..i vl talk 2 those wh evr helped me in stoppin piracy…”…u can also offr some gifts..i think talkin 2 them on fone is more economical…:p

leader was very good my family never misses a film of ur uncle venky as they are light and entertaining and makes us forget our day to day troubles for 2 and a half hours and i am quite sure u will carry on the tradition now ur family is the most simple film family who dont show of their sucesses extravagantly nor get discouraged by failures i really feel that we should go to a movie to enjoy ourselves and not deeply sermonize about troubles facing others or the state so act in entertaining movies make money and enjoy ur own life bye ALL THE BEST FOR UR FUTURE

You done a very impressive acting in “Leader” movie. As I have been thinking that all of you (film personalities) have been doing great job for the people thru the films. As you said with record that your grand father Dr.Ramanaidu have done some good things to people in his constitution. I would like to put a question the you guys have golden spoon life and perhaps may be deserv that..Can you be able to do something good to people as you and Sekhar Kammula said in the film. Its very easy to ask something but while in execution takes your breath away……My question is there are more illegal activties starts from big guys…will you be able to control them……..NO..Noway…If we take a film as film then there is not point of making commercial movie.
As purijaganath said ” In india if you film gandhi subject will not run.for 100days…..But if you shot a movie about heroins beauti and other romance then people will make that film hit as commercially…” You know one thing that you may not read these comments but ” I have voted for Dr.Jayaprakash Narayan”.. Apart from that I have enquired almost more than 1500 young people about what they thinking for our future of the country or AP. Almost everyone looking at me like a jerk. But still they all the same career,gossips,girls,entertaining……You know one thing that more piracy is been encouraged by the Educated young people.”

As answers for you questions and comments:
1. I guess film is our medium of voicing out our opinions and we’ve done that with leader.
2. As far as politics goes and other mediums of reaching out to people. We’re very sincerely working on means and method of directly reaching people in our own ways. Because the means that are available are still not delivering the results expected.
3. As for Mr. Puri’s comment with all due respect, there are many more film makers who felt that films in alternative genres don’t work in this country. But I guess we as film makers and you’ll as audiences have proved it with the success of Leader that films like this told in an entertaining story telling format do work and work well.

Congratulations… for the success of the Movie Leader. Convey my wishes to entire cast& crew of Leader movie.
You have given a heart warming and sincere performance in Leader. You were completely gets under the skin of your character Arjun Prasad. So much so, that we feel Arjun’s pain and his dilemma as he faces the people of the state.
And to evoke such emotions from the audience is a great achievement. Full credit goes to director Shekar Kammula and you.
The movie Leader was released in right time. The songs Maa Telugu Talliki (Original version) and Sirulu pongina were really superb.
I am a NRI, living in here (London) for past 8 years; I am planning to return to India and start my new career in next 5 years.
Please do films like Swades to target NRI audience!! (Not immediately, in next 2 or 3 years). Swades was most probably the best film of 2004. It was received raved reviews from film critics and audiences alike. Not to be missed! Mohan Bhargava (Sharukh Khan), an Indian scientist working on one of NASA’s projects, decides to return to India.
The director (Ashutosh Gowarikar) was successfully managed to convey the message home – if you have the talent and the know-how, then return to your roots to help others improve their lives.
Please do movies like Jodha-Akbar; I think you look perfect as Badshah or King (Because of your awesome physique).
Please do adventure and action thrillers. (Treasure hunting & Indiana Jones kind of movies)
If you get good director please do movies like National treasure (Nicolas cage), Fool’s gold (Mathew, Kate Hudson) and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Last but not least, please do movies like Nuvvu Naku Nachavu, Mallishwari, (My all time favorites)…
